How Can Parents Tell?
There are three things that need to be examined and potentially corrected:
Myofunctional Habits Restricting Proper Growth & Development
• Bottle Feeding
• Poor posture • Developmental delays, such as low muscle tone • Long Face syndrome • Speech problems (lisping) • Allergies |
• Frequent headaches
• Thumb sucking • Nail or lip biting or other oral habits • Frequent choking, gagging or trouble swallowing • Mild to moderate Sleep Apnea • Snoring |
Children as young as four years old can benefit from an evaluation session to determine if any preventative steps should be prescribed. Children of seven or eight years of age are often mature enough to receive complete training. Adults of all ages are capable of success in treatment.
